OMOANA is a Non-Profit that works in Uganda, a country from East Africa, which has 2.9 million orphans. Several projects have been set up with worthy local partners. We intend to ensure they respond to Ugandan challenges in a way that can ensure dignity for children and promote financial sustainability within their households. We offer long term solutions to the people we support. Our aim is to give them the means to be dynamic participants in the development of their own country.
Omoana House is a rehabilitation centre for HIV/Positive and malnourished children, who are given special care during a period of 3 months to one year. After their reintegration their medical and social situations are followed carefully. Their school fees are paid by OMOANA in the long term (including vocational training and/or secondary education).
St.Moses C.C.C. cares for orphans and vulnerable children. They receive the care they need to live as healthy children as well as quality education. Their long term schooling is funded. As soon as possible, children are reintegrated in their communities (with empowerment programs such as the microcredit). OMOANA is an active supporter of this centre.
Education is a key factor in ensuring a future for children of Uganda. With its partners, Omoana is funding primary, secondary and tertiary education for vulnerable children and youth. These are those welcomed in the centres in Jinja, as well as teenagers affected by war in Northern Uganda.
